Bajaj Auto sales grow by 14% in September

Auto major, Bajaj Auto (BAJAJAUTO.NS : 2101.05 0), today said it registered a growth of 14 per cent in sales of two and three-wheelers in September at 2,80,916 units.

The company's total sales during the same period last was 2,45,381 units.

Between April to September, 12,34,389 units of two and three wheelers were sold as against 12,60,135 vehicles in the corresponding period last year.

During September, Bajaj sold 2,49,795 two-wheelers as against 2,18,494 units in the year-ago period, the company said in a statement here today.

About 60 per cent of the Bajaj motorcycle sold in September belonged to more profitable category of the bigger and spotier Pulsar and Discover brands.

It sold 94,000 Discovers, including 71,000 of the newly launched Discover DTS-Si.

The month also witnessed the sale of 56,000 Pulsars.

Bajaj is launching new Kawasaki Ninja 250R next week and expecting a strong sales momentum from it.

For the first time in company's history, its exports grew by 18 per cent at 80,681 units in September this year as against 68,572 units sold in the same period last year.
