TVS eyes 54% sales growth


The country`s third largest two-wheeler manufacturer, TVS Motor Company is expecting to achieve a sales volume of about 1,000 units a month (i.e. 53.84%) of its different Scooty models in the Orissa market in 2009 compared to 650 units per month in the previous year, reports Business Standard.

At present, the company has a 35% market share in Orissa in the Scooty segment and it expects to take its market share to 50% by the end of 2009.

In the overall two-wheeler segment, it has a 12% market share in the Orissa market and the company sells nearly 1,800 units a month of all its two wheelers including Scooties and bikes.

Shares of the company declined Rs 0.65, or 3.48%, to end at Rs 18.05. The total volume of shares traded was 104,510 at the BSE (Tuesday).
