11 February, 2009
General Motor India launched a new variant of the Spark christened as Spark Muzic in the Indian car market. This new model is a special edition that consists of only 25,000 units and is priced at Rs 3.27 Lakh.

The key purpose to introduce this limited edition of its best selling small car is to spark excitement in the mini car segment. Commenting on the launch of the Spark Muzic, Jonathan Browning, General Motors Vice President of Global Sales, Service and Marketing said, “The introduction of this special version of the Spark sends a signal of GM’s commitment to roll out new and upgraded products that will fully satisfy consumers across India.” He also added that India is the top most priority for GM because it is considered to be one of the fastest growing and promising car markets.

Adding to the statement of GM India President and Managing Director Karl Slym, said, “We plan to continue to introduce variants of the Spark that target different groups of customers.” According to Karl this would help the company become a market leader in India.

The new car comes with an integrated music system, improved exteriors, and refreshed interiors along with features such as 2-Din entertainment system, sporty seat fabric, and remote keyless entry.

However, this new edition carries the same four-cylinder 1.0-litre petrol engine that delivers a peak power of 63 bhp. With this economical yet powerful engine, power and torque are maximized at lower speeds and this makes the small Spark a perfect city car. The Spark Muzic also carries a host of safety feature from the original Spark to ensure maximum safety for both the driver as well as the passenger.

Additionally, the Spark Muzic comes with a three-year/100,000-km standard warranty that makes it the first car with such a unique warranty period in the mini-car segment. Furthermore, it also comes with an additional add-on service maintenance package, the ‘Chevrolet Promise – Cashless Ownership Offer'. According to this offer, customer can enjoy absolutely free maintenance for three years or 45,000 km (whichever comes first).
