2 reappointed to automobile claims committee

Two people have been reappointed to the Minnesota Automobile Assigned Claims Bureau Governing Committee by Gov. Tim Pawlenty.

Brenda Elmer of Moorhead and Bennett Montzka of Stacy will serve two-year terms that expire on Jan. 3, 2011.

Elmer, who has been a board member since 2003, is a member of the state Commission on Judicial Standards and the Fargo-Moorhead YMCA board of directors and has served on the Moorhead Public Service Commission and the Minnesota Environmental Quality Board.

Montzka, who has been on the board since 2007, is a general practice attorney with Montzka Legal Services in Wyoming. He is chairman of the Chisago Board of Commissioners, where he is in his third term.

The claims bureau governs the operation of the Minnesota Auto Assigned Claims Plan in providing no-fault basic economic loss benefits to eligible recipients. The governing board consists of seven members, including two public members appointed by the governor.
