NEW DELHI: Luxury carmaker Audi India today reported an over two fold jump in its January sales at 306 units over the same period last year.
The company had sold 109 units in January 2009, the company said in a statement.
"Audi India posted continuous sales growth all through 2009, and we start the new year with record sales...We look forward to keeping this momentum through the rest of the year," Audi India Managing Director Benoit Tiers said.
The company is aiming for 40 per cent increase in sales this year to 2,300 units, up from 1,658 units in 2009.
"The growth figures for January indicate Audi's progress in the right direction," it added.
Tiers said a major strategy this year will be to expand the company's network.
"In keeping with our India strategy, our focus this year will be on network expansion and consolidation. We plan to expand our dealership network to mini-metro cities in addition to introducing new offerings," he said.
